Taking the steps through life, work and play I find myself back where it all began. From leaving Liverpool to go on a journey of education and new relationships to find myself back to where I began my journey. In troubled hardships that we all face I find myself creating my own job. From teaching over the past ten years to trying to find a job role back in my home city I find myself walking quite a bit. Walking is a good way to exercise the body, but also in exercising the mind.

From attending the GEC 2012 during March 2012 and from the help of LFC at various meetings I have had (interspersed with many job applications along the way), I find myself doing what I have always wanted to do, creativity is the key. The snapshot of the camera and video camera plays a part in what I am trying to do.

In establishing Up & Coming Arts as a company, the steps I have had to take under extreme hardship and many doors being closed in my face have been challenging. From the discovery of my dyslexia whilst studying for my MA to the lack of funding available to the arts seems to link back now and resonate to where I started my own education. I am a hard worker and am not looking for a hand out but a mere hand up. I want to create a company that exists to give those less well off a chance to exhibit and to encourage a creative way of visual education whilst reinforcing a sense of self worth in all of us.
